Movado Caliber 260M Watch Movement Spare Parts
The Movado Caliber 260M is a calibre reference of interest to vintage watch collectors and watch repair enthusiasts. When restoring a watch fitted with this movement, selecting compatible spare parts is essential for preserving its original mechanism, reliability, and historical character.
Common Spare Parts to Look For
– Balance assembly: The balance wheel, hairspring, and related components regulate the movement’s timekeeping.
– Balance cock: Supports the balance assembly and must match the movement’s specific design.
– Mainspring: Supplies the energy needed to drive the movement. Correct dimensions and specifications are important when replacing a worn spring.
– Gear train wheels: The centre, third, fourth, and escape wheels transmit power through the mechanism; verify the exact configuration before ordering.
– Pallet fork and escape wheel: Work together to control the release of energy to the balance.
– Barrel and barrel arbor: House and support the mainspring.
– Jewels and pivots: Worn or damaged bearing surfaces can affect performance and require careful inspection.
– Screws, springs, and setting components: Small parts can be difficult to source, so retaining original components during disassembly is advisable.
