Movado Caliber 165 Watch movement spare parts

Movado Caliber 165 Watch Movement Spare Parts
The Movado Caliber 165 is a reference of interest to vintage watch collectors and hobbyist watchmakers restoring classic Movado timepieces. When servicing a vintage movement, selecting compatible spare parts is essential for preserving its original operation, reliability, and mechanical integrity.
Common Spare Parts to Look For
– Balance wheel and balance staff: Essential components of the regulating system. Inspect for a damaged staff, worn pivots, or a bent balance wheel.
– Mainspring: Provides the power that drives the movement. A replacement must match the original dimensions and specifications.
– Barrel and barrel arbor: Check for wear, damage, or irregular power delivery.
– Train wheels and pinions: Examine the center, third, and fourth wheels, along with their pivots and teeth.
– Escapement components: Inspect the escape wheel, pallet fork, and related parts for wear or damage.
– Jewels and bearings: Worn or damaged jewels can cause friction, poor timekeeping, and reduced power transmission.
– Winding and setting components: The winding stem, setting mechanism, and associated wheels should be checked if the watch has difficulty winding or setting the hands.
– Screws, springs, and bridges: Original or correctly matched components help maintain secure assembly and proper alignment.
