Movado Caliber 169 Watch Movement Spare Parts
The Movado Caliber 169 is a vintage watch movement reference of interest to collectors, restorers, and hobbyist watchmakers. Finding the correct spare parts is essential when servicing an original movement, repairing a non-running watch, or restoring a vintage Movado timepiece. Before purchasing components, verify the exact calibre marking and movement configuration to ensure compatibility.
Common Spare Parts to Look For
– Balance assembly: The balance wheel, hairspring, and associated components are critical to the movement’s timekeeping performance.
– Balance cock: Supports the balance assembly and must match the movement’s design and jewel arrangement.
– Pallet fork and pallet bridge: Essential parts of the escapement that transfer energy to the balance wheel.
– Mainspring: Supplies the energy required to drive the movement. Confirm the correct dimensions and spring characteristics.
– Gear train wheels: The center, third, fourth, and escape wheels may require replacement if damaged or excessively worn.
– Jewels and pivots: Worn jewels or damaged wheel pivots can cause friction, poor amplitude, and unreliable timekeeping.
– Winding and setting components: The winding pinion, setting lever, clutch components, and related parts may be needed to restore winding and hand-setting functions.
– Screws and bridges: Original screws and correctly fitted bridges help preserve the movement’s integrity during reassembly.
