Movado Caliber 15 Watch movement spare parts
Movado Caliber 15 Watch Movement Spare Parts
The Movado Caliber 15 is a movement designation that vintage watch enthusiasts and hobbyist watchmakers may encounter when researching replacement components for older Movado timepieces. Finding the correct spare parts requires careful identification of the movement, as components can differ between calibres and production variations.
Common Spare Parts to Look For
– Balance assembly: The balance wheel, hairspring, and related components are essential for regulating the movement’s timekeeping.
– Balance cock: Supports the balance assembly and must match the movement’s design and mounting points.
– Mainspring: Supplies the energy required to operate the watch. Check the dimensions and specification before selecting a replacement.
– Barrel and barrel arbor: These components store and transfer power through the gear train.
– Gear train wheels: The center wheel, third wheel, fourth wheel, and escape wheel may be needed when repairing worn or damaged pivots and teeth.
– Pallet fork and escape components: Help control the release of energy from the gear train.
– Winding mechanism: The winding stem, setting components, and associated gears should be matched to the exact movement.
– Jewels and screws: Small parts can be difficult to source individually, making donor movements useful for restoration work.
