Introduced in 1950 by ETA, the Caliber 1080 stands as a foundational manual-wind mechanical movement that influenced mid-20th-century horology. This Swiss-made caliber, sized at 10.5 lignes (23.3-23.7mm diameter and 4.15mm height), beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz) with a 52-degree lift angle, delivering approximately 40-42 hours of power reserve. Featuring hacking seconds—enabled by a lever sweep second stop—and Incabloc shock protection, it powers central hours, minutes, and sweeping seconds via three hands (1.5mm hour, 0.90mm minute, 0.20mm second).
